- We welcomed the Ligue de Football Professionnel, MarkMonitor, Serie A and DAZN as members.
- We continued our collaboration with law enforcement and participated in training for African law enforcement officers as part of the INTERPOL Mentoring Programme in Lyon.
- Over 70 law enforcement agents and prosecutors attended training provided by AAPA with Europol and Eurojust in The Hague.
- At Europol’s request we supported the Bulgarian Cybercrime Department on operational raids with two forensic investigators on the ground.
- AAPA’s Working Groups made good progress in building constructive relationships with Facebook, OVH, and Google.
- We sponsored the 3rd Europol IP Crime conference in Malaga and held an operational workshop on Operation Belenus where we were joined by Marlene Alvarez Vicente and Alejandro Fernando Gonzalez from the Grupo de Antipirateria of the Spanish National Police.
- The Malaga conference was the venue for the 2nd AAPA awards for a successful initiative to fight audiovisual piracy. The Spanish Police won again, with Chief Inspector Monica Dopico accepting the award on behalf of the IP Crime Section of the National Police.
- A special award was made to Chris van Steenkiste to recognise the difference he had made to fighting IP crime and illegal streaming as Head of Europol’s IPC3.
- We continued to participate actively in the EU Observatory on IP Infringements and were involved in the Expert Group for the University of Bournemouth Study on IPTV piracy.
- We welcomed the University of Bournemouth, Infomir, Google, Amazon, the Serbian Police Cybercrime Department and WorldStream at our meetings in London, Madrid, Belgrade and Utrecht.
- We will continue to collaborate closely with law enforcement in 2020 and look forward to working with many stakeholders in the fight against piracy.
