And another year has passed, 2023 has seen similar waves in the fight against audiovisual piracy as the years before. There have certainly been some disappointments and sometimes a perceived standstill at political or legislative level, as the European Commission's recommendation is unfortunately only a recommendation so far and the implementation of possible means in the European Member States (such as targeted dynamic IP blocking against structural copyright infringing offers) is not equally available or implemented. Nevertheless, the work of the AAPA members is even more dynamic and positive. Until the end of the year, even though the holidays are already approaching, the AAPA members have been committed and have organized workshops with partners and law enforcement agencies. Extensive educational work was carried out on the dangers of piracy for end consumers, relevant key figures were developed, relevant key players in the market were addressed in the working groups and actively involved to further disrupt and suppress the illegal ecosystem. I am very confident that this will be expanded even further in 2024 and that the AAPA members and the Executive Board team will continue to expand the need and support at a political level.Oliver PribramskyAAPA Co-President, Head of Rights Management, Technologies & Archive, DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH
